SEE and the NDIS
SEE is a contemporary arts organisation providing creative capacity building. mentoring. employment pathways and community participation for disabled and neurodivergent artists.
What SEE provides
Through structured studio programs, artist mentoring, supported collaboration and public presentation, SEE supports artists to build skills, confidence, communication, creative independence, community connection and pathways to paid creative work.
What SEE does not provide
SEE is not a clinical therapy, personal care or health provider. SEE does not provide art therapy, behaviour support, personal care, medical treatment or clinical assessment.
THE NDIS AND THE ARTS
SEE plays an important role in providing opportunities for people with disability to participate in the artistic and cultural life of their communities.
Using NDIS Funding
Some artists use NDIS funding to access SEE programs where the support relates to their disability, personal goals and NDIS plan. This may include support to participate in creative and community life, develop social and communication skills, build capacity for collaboration and self-direction, prepare for creative employment and take part in professional arts environments.
What NDIS may not cover
NDIS funding generally does not cover ordinary costs such as tickets, food, general recreation, general materials, personal items or supports that are not related to a participant’s disability needs and plan.
