FAQs

What is Second Echo Ensemble?

Second Echo Ensemble (SEE) is a contemporary arts company based in Nipaluna/Hobart, Tasmania. We don't make a performance about having a disability or not having a disability. We do work about life, its surroundings, its imaginings, its rhythms, its anger, and its celebrations.

Who is part of the ensemble?

The ensemble consists of professional performers and artists from diverse backgrounds, collaborating with people with and without disabilities, ensuring everyone has a voice and contributes their unique perspective. Meet the team here.

What kind of work does SEE create?

SEE creates innovative, thought-provoking performances and exhibitions that blend movement, theatre, visual arts and music. Our works explore social justice, access, and community, engaging audiences emotionally and intellectually.

How is SEE different from other performing arts companies?

SEE breaks barriers by making and presenting exceptional art that challenges assumptions, shakes up stereotypes, and gives voice to untold stories.

Can I book SEE to perform at my venue or festival?

Yes, SEE can be booked for performances at venues, festivals and events. We tailor our performances to suit different spaces and audiences. Get in touch with us via the Contact page.

How do you support access and equity in your work?

We ensure physical access (e.g. wheelchair access, captioning), provide opportunities for artists with disabilities, and create work that’s accessible to diverse communities. We advocate for a more inclusive arts industry and break down barriers for underrepresented artists.
